Sarprand is committed to ensuring that our website and programmes are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the accessibility of our digital content and services.
1. Our Commitment
At Sarprand, we believe professional development should be available to all. We are committed to making our website and services accessible to people with a wide range of abilities and disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, or keyboard-only navigation.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and to comply with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 where applicable.
2. Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of our website do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address these areas.
We have carried out accessibility testing and review as part of our ongoing commitment to improvement. We aim to resolve identified issues in forthcoming development cycles.
3. Accessibility Features
The following features are currently implemented across our website to support accessible use:
Navigation and structure
- A "Skip to content" link is available at the top of each page for keyboard and screen reader users.
- All pages use a logical, consistent heading hierarchy (H1–H3).
- Navigation menus are keyboard-accessible and include appropriate ARIA labels.
- All interactive elements are focusable using the keyboard Tab key.
Visual design
- Text and background colour combinations are chosen to meet minimum contrast ratios.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- The site does not use content that flashes more than three times per second.
Images and media
- All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text (alt attributes).
- Decorative images use empty alt attributes to be correctly ignored by screen readers.
- SVG icons and graphics include accessible labels where relevant.
Forms and interactive elements
- All form fields have visible, descriptive labels.
- Error messages are clearly associated with the relevant input fields.
- Modal dialogs (e.g. the enrolment form) trap focus correctly and can be dismissed with the Escape key.
- ARIA roles and attributes are used where appropriate to communicate element purpose to assistive technologies.
4. Known Accessibility Issues
We are aware of the following areas that do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are committed to resolving these in our next planned update:
- Some colour contrast ratios in muted secondary text elements fall marginally below the 4.5:1 threshold required for normal-weight body text.
- The embedded Google Maps iframe does not currently have a fully accessible title or keyboard-navigable alternative view.
- Certain animated reveal effects may activate regardless of the user's "prefers-reduced-motion" browser setting — we are implementing support for this preference.
We are actively working to resolve all known issues. If you encounter a problem not listed here, please let us know using the contact details below.
5. Technical Information
Sarprand's website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- WAI-ARIA
These technologies are supported by all major modern browsers and assistive technologies. We recommend using an up-to-date browser for the best experience.
6. Assessment Approach
Sarprand assessed the accessibility of this website using the following approaches:
- Self-evaluation against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria.
- Testing with keyboard-only navigation.
- Testing with screen reader software (including NVDA and VoiceOver).
- Automated testing using accessibility evaluation tools.
- Review of colour contrast ratios using contrast checking tools.
7. Programme Accessibility
We are committed to making our educational programmes accessible to all participants. If you have a disability, learning difference, or other need that may affect your participation in a Sarprand programme, please contact us before enrolment so we can discuss suitable adjustments.
Reasonable adjustments we can accommodate include:
- Provision of materials in alternative formats (large print, plain text, PDF).
- Flexible scheduling of coaching sessions.
- Extended time for assessments and written exercises.
- Remote participation options for all programmes.
- Captioning or transcripts for recorded sessions on request.
